Captured at the Clachan Bridge, also known as the Bridge Over the Atlantic, leading to the Isle of Seil. The bridge was built in 1792 by Robert Mylne and has a very steep hump back to allow passage of tall boats under the bridge on the Clachan Sound. It has been known for coaches to ask passengers to get off and walk across the bridge to prevent them from 'bottoming out' on the steep gradient.
May brings out the wonders of nature as these beautiful tiny alpine perennials start to appear all ove the bridge. They make the bridge looks so picturesque and to add to the romantic feel they are known as Fairy Foxgloves. Alternatively it is known as alpine balsam, which suggests they may have once had a medicinal purpose.
I have added Eric Heatherly and 'Flowers on the Wall'
Bon mercredi, HWW !
