Mit der Zahnradbahn auf die Rigi - Blick auf den Vierwaldstädter See

In der Mitte zu sehen die Halbinsel Bürgen. Die Halbinsel Bürgen, oft auch als Bürgenberg bezeichnet, ist eine markante Landzunge in der Zentralschweiz, die in den Vierwaldstättersee hinein ragt. Sie erstreckt sich über die Kantone Nidwalden und Luzern.

Oh yes, Keith, I’ve actually been dreaming of this trip for a very, very long time. I worked for the railways in Germany for over 45 years. And in the GDR, Switzerland was a long, long way off. It was almost like another continent. After reunification, when the first TV programmes about Swiss railways started airing, I always used to dream: ‘One day you’ll go there!’ – And the weather was absolutely lovely that day.
