Corroboree Rock #1

Part 2
11th Day - 11.06.2019 Eastern MacDonnells

The impressive dolomite structure of Corroboree Rock Conservation Reserve is of great importance to the local Arrernte Aboriginal people.

Formed more than 800 million years ago by salt lakes, it is a sacred men's site that plays a significant role in culture today.

The reserve is a registered sacred site and traditional owners ask that you stay on the marked track to protect this special place.

On the walks you'll be able to get great photos of spinifex and senna against a milky blue sky when the light is low.

Thank you :-) And when you come back from the red earth to our yellow sand, it seems very boring :-)))
