In winter they like to eat seeds from bird feeders, but also fallen fruit and berries (rose hips, etc.). Blackbirds are seasonally monogamous. Sometimes they have the same partner for life and are loyal to their breeding site. Birds that are in the area all year round start establishing their winter territories in the autumn.
