Thank you, that's a old room for recovery carriages and carts used to transport the rice at Lucedio Abbey, near Vercelli, in the largest Italian rice production area. The rice in the area was introduced there aroung the 13-14 century by the cistercenses monks transferred at the Abbey from France. Rice seeds selection are done locally so to preserve the type that are growing there since 500 and more years, Carnaroli, Vialone Nero are the most famous.
