Indeed. And before Apple issued its first iphone I was equiped with Ericsson and after Sony Ericsson mobiles. My first one beginning 90s was Ericsson Curt. Always had to put it to load as batteries didn't last long, but it was better than carry the heavy bulky Motorola Cellular Bag ... After came Ericsson Olivia, + some others I don't remember their names...

Almost, it's an empty spool from a DASH digital multitrack, 24/48 tracks on 1/2" tape, dates back to the early 80s, it was pretty revolutionary at the time in that you could razor blade edit the multi-track masters, just like analogue; more here: www.muzines.co.uk/articles/digital-recording/4389
