Bulgaria, Maritsa River downstream from the Bridge of Mustafa Pasha
The Maritsa is one of the largest rivers on the Balkan Peninsula. Its length is 490 km.
The river originates in southern Bulgaria, in the eastern Rila Mountains at an altitude of 2,378 meters, and flows into the Aegean Sea.
