Madagascar, The Lined Flat-Tail Gecko in Réserve Peyrieras Exotic
The lined flat-tail gecko (Uroplatus lineatus) is a gecko which is found in eastern Madagascar. These geckos live on trees in tropical rain forests and on bamboo plants. They reach a total length of 270 mm.
This species is known for its remarkable ability to mimic dry leaves or tree bark, which helps it hide from predators.
Geckos in this genus have flattened tails and toes with suction cups, allowing them to move along smooth surfaces.
Most members of this genus are nocturnal.
