Greece, Kerkyra (Corfu), Palaio Frourio Lighthouse Close-up
This lighthouse was built in 1822 during the British protectorate over the Ionian Islands and was the first light station in the regional network. The installation marked an important turning point in the region's maritime history.
The light operates automatically with electrical systems since 1992, emitting white signals every six seconds.
The lighthouse displays British colonial architecture through its conical tower and adjoining rooms that reflect the building style of that era.
