The marble high altar was created in 1532 according to the design of Baldassare Peruzzi. It is decorated with four bronze angel-candelabra by Giovanni di Stefano and Francesco di Giorgio. The composition is crowned by a bronze ciborium created by the master Vecchietta in 1467-1472.
