I would advise visiting Bulgaria in the second half of spring: in April or May. I like to travel to the Bulgarian mountains - Rila Lakes, Vihren Hut.
Of the cities, I would recommend visiting Plovdiv and Melnik, as well as Sandanski and Belogradchik. It is very interesting to visit the Rila Monastery.
