It's not just a flamingo, it's the James's flamingo. They were considered completely extinct, but in 1960 a small flock was found not far to the south of this lake. Now there are 28,000 of them.
Here, in the Bolivian altiplano, the lakes are very salty, so the fish do not live here. But in the lakes there is a huge number of small crustaceans, which are food for the flamingo.
