1777 Hydriomenia furcata (July Highflyer)
Geometridae, Larentiinae - Wingspan: 28-36mm.
This species is common throughout the UK, and widespread in Cornwall, although it seems to be more common to the west of the county. It is quite a variable species, but in Cornwall, the most common form is shown above.
As its common name implies, the flight season peaks in July, but is almost as high in August. However, the full range of occurrence is wider, spreading from June to September.
