1758 Eulithis pyraliata (Barred Straw)
Geometridae, Larentiinae - Wingspan: 30-36mm.
A common species throughout the UK, and generally has a pale straw colouration with a dark edged central cross-band on the fore-wings. It often rests with its wings curled together each side of the body in a very strange stance for a Geometrid.
The flight season is from a single generation, occurring between May and July, with occasional specimens in late April and early August. The population peaks in June and July.
