How do you get the snails out of the shell to eat them? Are they eaten with tooth picks?

I love this bird’s eye view. I have a lifelong fascination with maps, satellite photos etc. I can spend hours on Google Earth tracing the course of a river as it meanders, oblivious of political boundaries and borders.
