Gamekeepers and landowners. That this continues to happen is a tragedy. I’ve seen the rows of SUV’s parked in country lanes disgorging the powerful and privileged, toting their guns, very pleased with themselves, on their way to these moors to blast grouse out of the skies. Meanwhile the environment is degraded. Any fines for illegal behaviour by landowners and gamekeepers are piffling. I’ve been stopped from walking on these moors by gamekeepers.
