KN0385 KENORA - AT THE DEVIL'S GAP, RAT PORTAGE, ONT.

POSTCARD

Date: Posted from Brandon, Manitoba on what appears to be September 1, 1905.

Publisher / Photographer: Johnson's Pharmacy, Rat Portage, ON. #1641

Notation: This is one of a set several full-colour Rat Portage cards that were published apparently prior to the towns name change (to "Kenora") in May of 1905. they do have a divided back so it is likely they were printed sometime between early 1904 and May of 1905.

Yes - it doesn't seem that the opportunity to print divided back cards was taken up very widely for at least a year, so mostly likely 1905 (so this was likely close to a hot-off-the-presses card at the time of use).

Reminds me that I've been meaning to try to find my earliest use date for a Canadian divided-back.
