Nameless Lake 4

I don't usually have another image in mind when I try to capture an image, but as I tromped through the bush beside the road leading to Stanley Mission, Saskatchewan, I had painter Tom Thomson's The Jack Pine in my head. It was mid-September, so the trees were already turning colour, and there were few bugs! If you are not familiar with Tom Thomson, his paintings are considered to be iconic representatives of Canada's north. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Group_of_Seven_(artists)#/media/File:The_Jack_Pine,_by_Tom_Thomson.jpg
