Ragentor
Dieses Stadttor verbindet die Altstadt mit Oberragen, das zwar von jeher zur Bruneck gehörte, aber außerhalb der Stadtmauern lag. Es wird auch als Unterrainer Tor beziechnet.
Ein Fresko auf der Innenseite des Torturmes stellt den Stadtgründer Bischof Bruno dar und wurde 1922 vom Maler Hans Weber gemalt. Das mit der Jahreszahl 1470 versehene stark verwitterte Fresko daraunter, wird einem Maler aus dem Kreis um Michael Pacher zugeschrieben. Das Fresko an der Außenseite trugt die nicht mehr lesbare Jahreszahl 1388.

Von hier aus geht auch aufwärts zum Schloss Bruneck*
Von welcher Seite man sich auch der Stadt nähern mag, immer erblickt man zuerst die schöne, große Bischofsburg, Schloss Bruneck. Sie liegt auf einem leicht zugänglichen Hügel über der Stadt und sieht auf die Häuser der Altstadt herab, als müsste sie noch immer über Leben und Sicherheit der Bürger wachen.
Das Schloss beherbergt das Messner Mountain Museum "MMM Ripa" des bekannten Bergsteigers Reinhold Messner.
