SC202- It's a crazy world
Announced in 1994, officially started in 2010, the project of Stuttgart 21 (new underground railway station instead of the current terminal station) is said to be delayed again until 2031, because Deutsche Bahn obviously laid 1000km of wrong cables.
(German TV, no translation/subtitles available):

Costs went from the initially planned 4,5 billion Euro to currrently 11,5 billion (which could rise to 25 billion).

For train travellers and commuters the building site involves such long detours to get to the platforms that someone has uploaded a map of "Fernwanderweg S21" to Komoot:

From the start there have been protests that continue to this day- a demonstration every Monday and a permanent picket across the road from the station building
