In Stuttgart's zoological-botanical garden (Wilhelma) the paeonias were in full bloom just after Easter, 3 weeks earlier than last year. I managed to catch the last few in early May.
In the main photo a yellow hybrid, in the PiPs the pink ones which go back to the mid 19th century when Wilhelma was created as a private pleasure garden for King Wilhelm I.
Paeonie ar always so beautiufl in late spring. It's such a pity that the flowers are so short lived. Everything is early in our garden to, Gudrun. In fact the roses are starting to bloom already. Normally our first rose open in the final week of May.
