von Taiaroa Head aus gesehen. Der geschützte, 22km lange und maximal 5 km breite Naturhafen bedient die Häfen von Dunedin und Port Chalmers. Er entstand, als zwischen 2 Lavaströmen des riesigen (erloschenen) Dunedin-Vulkans Seewasser eindrang. Die Fahrrinnen werden vor allem an den Engstellen immer wieder ausgebaggert, Lotsenboote geleiten die Frachter.

I love the main image with that fantastic green landscape in the background and the contrasting blue of the water. The large ship really stands out and dwarfs the tiny red boat behind it.
The PiP is also wonderful........the green landscape nicely topped off with the lovely sky and the colours of the water and the sand in the foreground are beautiful.
