Pukará of Lasana is a pre-columbian Atacameño fortress that offered refuge to an estimated 500 persons. Built of local (volcanic) stone the roofs were made of cactus, algarrobo or chañar wood and covered with mud.
Pukará and village of Lasana (ca. 250 inhabitants) lie at 2590m on the upper reaches of the river Loa.
