Breiðafjörður

Looking out over Breiðafjörður from Styykishólmur harbour, on the left are the basalt columns of Súgandisey.
In the note ferry "Baldur" getting ready for her morning crossing to the Westfjords.
The current "Baldur" was bult in 1969 and originally sailed under Norwegian flag as Lofoten ferry "Vagan". She's now starting to show her age with repeated machine trouble: www.icelandreview.com/travel/baldur-ferry-breaks-down-again-service-may-be-suspended

A wonderful coastal landscape Gudrun, captured in glorious light............the rocks in the foreground and those impressive basalt columns look splendid and the light has brought out the super details in them. Great to see some birds flying around as well.

I like the PiP too.........although reading the link about safety concerns sounds a bit worrying, especially given the location the ferry works in.

The cliffs look beautiful against he golden sunlight and blue sky Gudrun! I like your PiP also, seeing the houses around the harbour. They look very cosy! Maybe it's time to retire the ferry before there are more problems.
