01/50 Staffel zur Weißenburg

CMT15: staircase, stairs

Flight of steps in Weißenburgpark, site of a former castle and now a popular viewpoint over Stuttgart. There even is a beer garden:-)

Due to its topography Stuttgart has hundreds of named and unnamed "Stäffele" (flights of steps) leading up the hills surrounding the city centre. When the terrain gets too steep streets sometimes have dead ends and continue as steps;-)

Gudrun replied to J.Garcia:

Thank you so much, Judite! Plenty of that sort of exercise to be had in our town, that's why a funicular and a rack railway are part of our local transport...

The beer garden can be a good incentive too!

Gudrun replied to Xata:

Obrigdad, Isabel! The prices there are rather steep and it wasn't noon yet;-) But first customers were there- see added notes.

Schönen Dank, Heide! Früher war das ein Geheimtipp;-) Aussichtspunkte hat es viele gute, das ist nur einer davon.

Interesting steps, leading up to a fine terrace, and I really like the look of the building and beer garden.

Gudrun replied to Gillian Everett:

Thanks a lot, Gillian! The building belonged to an old villa, the villa itself is gone but the tea pavillion the owner built for his wife is still there.

A lovely series of images, Gudrun. A fine view from the top to justify the climb too 9quite apart from the beer garden.
