Reykholt church

Reykholt church was built in 1886/87 and is rather typical of Icelandic churches of that time.
Reykholt's most famous citizen was politician and writer Snorri Sturluson (1179-1241), poet of Heimskringla, the Prose Edda and probably also Egill's Saga.

Danke, Ko! Diese Kirche sah innen ziemlich frisch renoviert aus, aber die Farben dürften auch früher so gewesen sein.

:-) Was Barockes würde hier wie ein absoluter Fremdkörper wirken;-) Die Sternendecke überm Altar ist wohl das Maximum an Üppigkeit, was es hier so gibt. LG Gudrun
