Thanks, Keith. They probably are made of ticky-tacky. As I mentioned to Adam, they're at least made of glass, which is really not appropriate for the Toronto climate. Mainly I wanted to show that it's rich people that live in boxes. Your and George's replies suggest that it's the catchiness of Malvina Reynolds's tune that made it popular rather than the lyrics, though.
There is a residential area in my country where there are just a bunch of rooms with the exact same layout. (similar to Soviet housing complexes).
When you go inside, you get a completely different feeling from room to room.
Yes, people assume from the identical exteriors that the interiors are identical, too. As for layout, I have a few problems with the layout of my current apartment.
