Testing Explore... Trying to find out how soon new upload possibly replaces my previous popular post on Explore.

Results: New image becomes moderated and replace one's previous image on Explore approximately in 24 hours. However, if few days old image is extremely popular compared to new post, it may take a little longer.

My previously "Explored" is this: www.ipernity.com/doc/serola/49130636

So, assuming I get at least few views, and comments, this one may take the place from that previous one.

Moreover, if at some point I do not have any pictures on Explore, then maybe it is because this one is waiting for moderation. Read more about the topic here:

Recommendation/suggestion: Because moderation for Explore is probably usually done when it is early morning in Europe, the best time to upload new images is around early evening. Then if images manage to get enough faves, views and comments to become as a new "Explore candidate", the new image then also becomes published and viewed on Explore next morning.

Yes, I always try to upload in the evening here, Midwest USA, for early morning acceptance in Europe time. Nice black and white Sami. Like the border effect.

Sami Serola (inactiv… replied to Frank J Casella:

The border is made on PicMonkey. First one of "Sketchedy" borders, and then image rotated on both sides to add some one sided caption space on "Simple Edge".

I like to use that PicMonkey editor to add some final touch on images.

Is there also an effect by the numbers of groups you submit to? That's the way it was on Flickr.

Sami Serola (inactiv… replied to Frank J Casella:

I think not. I am not sure. BUT, sharing on many groups may lure more people to visit, comment and like ;-)

Based on my experience, usually only group administrators bother to view images in group context. But if you share your image on 100 groups, and maybe even 30 different group administrators like what they see, then you do get plenty of popularity points.
