Battle of Tampere

Snow covered civil war exhibition stand on a street, close to Pakkahuone building.

Last year Finland celebrated 100 year of independence, but it came at a high price: 1918 Finnish Civil War.

What kind of material is that?

Sami Serola (inactiv… replied to Marko Novosel:

It is some sort of a Plexiglas. There's an old archive photo printed on it and the image is then partly transparent, and surface is glossy, so it also reflects. For my surprise the snow rained on it got stuck on the glossy surface.

This "street art" exhibition has been arranged by local photo archive museum. Similar stands are all over the town.

What a unique moment you have captured here, elevating the effect in a wholly personal way. As is said above a spectral effect that is quietly appropriate

Thank you very much, David. I usually avoid representing someone else's art like posters and statues, but when it turns to something else thanks to weather or public interaction, it then just has to become recorded =)
