Chancel rebuilt 1855 to designs of C.A. Buckler, who also designed the alabaster reredos (c.1863); according to the church guide book, James Raymond of Hildersham Hall provided the reredos in memory of his wife and seven children, who all predeceased him, dying of consumption; each of the angels in the spandrels at the top of the reredos represents one of the seven daughters.
