The easterly of two stained glass windows with C14 figures of saints, "much restored in 1853 by King of Norwich" according to the
Buildings of England. On the left, St John the Evangelist, apparently holding the poisoned chalice given him by a pagan priest of Ephesus to test him; the poison escaped from the chalice in the form of a small two-headed dragon, as recounted in the
Golden Legend (1228-1298):
