The End

An old photograph from long ago. Probably the last picture I shall post on ipernity. My subscription is due shortly and with regret I shall not renew. The unsatisfactory experience of using the site over the last few months, and the realisation that in the short term it is beyond repair, have led to this decision. I have tidied my part of the site by making many deletions so that any vestige which remains for however long it lingers will be the best I can do. I wish you all well. For me, this is the end.

Schade, leider nachvollziehbar und du bist nicht die einzige Person, die sich so entscheidet.

The Limbo Connection replied to Manuel Wesser:

In the absence of generous and wealthy patrons, ipernity must find another income stream if it is to modernise and survive. Being a mutual organisation of high ideals and standards does not fit well in the Wild West internet, it would seem.

Sadly, I feel you may not be alone. It's difficult to encourage people to pay to a site they have problems logging into. It's a shame as most other photo sites are ad driven rubbish.

The Limbo Connection replied to Mark1965:

Never a wiser word was spoken. No-one buys anything in a shop that is closed. It's the sure way to go out of business.

Don't get all emotional now. You know I can't bear tears.

I think, TLC, that you might find that today [6th August 2025] that Ipernity seems to be working more normally. Well, it is for me.

The Limbo Connection replied to StoneRoad2013:

Thank you, StoneRoad. I knew of the success and I hope it endures. From my own point of view, and in despair that anything would, or indeed could, be done, I had already deleted almost all of my content as a precursor to leaving ipernity. What hit me quite forcibly whilst doing this was that most of what I had posted was of quite poor quality. I don’t think I have enough decent material to even contemplate rebuilding the edifice that was once the Limbo Connection. And anyway, the saboteurs might yet return. All in all, this has been cathartic and instructive for me.

Old Owl replied to The Limbo Connection:

It's saddening for me personally that many of the photographs you had posted and which I liked and marked as favourites have disappeared. Still, your gaff your rules. I hope you find solace elsewhere.

Mark1965 replied to The Limbo Connection:

I personally think your collection is a great addition to this site. I like the different perspectives you show in your photos along with the often detailed description offered. Certainly far better than my current efforts which are being driven mainly by requests of a certain type.

The Limbo Connection replied to Old Owl:

Well, everything is temporary, as I am wont to remark when in morbid reflection, but I did not really see that my action was selfish, and I apologise to you particularly, Old Owl, and generally, for causing disappointment in this respect.
