Thanks William, as ever, for your complimentary remarks. It is true that I reduced the intensity of the colours of the mug in the foreground, but for the record, most of the appliances in the background had very little colour to begin with, being designed to fit in with any domestic colour scheme.
Thank you John. Your understanding of pictures continues to impress me. I suppose I must have been aware of the asymmetrical character of the composition, but it is quite possible that I simply wanted a picture of those two mugs and the tea pot and kettle behind them, and simply accepted that the largely featureless space on the right-hand side would have to be accommodated. I am not much of an intellectual. I go on instinct practically all the time.
