Where I Met and Talked to Ray and Elena from New Jersey

This morning soon after Lacock Abbey had opened I met Ray and Elena who were on vacation in the Bath area from their home in New Jersey, U.S.A. I told them about my affection for Lacock Abbey and we discussed some of the other places they had visited. They soon discovered how woefully untravelled I was - I have, for example, never been to the Cheddar Gorge which was on their itinerary for the afternoon. Seeing my camera, Ray asked if I ever posted pictures online and I told him about ipernity. American visitors are unfailingly polite and courteous so it was difficult for me to assess whether ipernity was of much interest to him and Elena. Perhaps it is revealing that they preferred not to have their photograph taken for inclusion amongst the content here, so this narrative will have to suffice. By the way, the fellow in the photograph is not Ray, he is a volunteer at the reception desk who graciously delayed stepping back inside whilst I took this picture of the front entrance.
