Vibrant colours. Is it the CCD sensor which gives this depth or is it your processing? Whichever, it is a lovely image.

The Limbo Connection replied to Old Owl:

This particular 6MP CCD sensor was noted for its vibrant and usable images straight out of the camera (the sensor was in the D70 and D50 as well as the D40). Years ago I bought a cheap secondhand D50 for amusement and ended up preferring it to cameras I had spent quite a bit more on - it was great for JPEGs and light in weight. The results were acceptable for prints as well as on the computer screen. But now, years later, I shoot RAW for the latitude and this picture of a poppy was captured that way. So I can't be sure it is exclusively the CCD sensor which provides the impact, but I feel it is helpful. Thanks very much for pausing to offer a nice comment.
