The Wikipedia entry is very good I think on Nova, and this image a nice echo of their style. The Sixties in retrospect do feel like a lost golden age of style, innovation and youth culture. I think Larkin talks about β€˜63 being β€œ rather too late for me”. For me, I think the sixties were a little too soon; I was just fifteen as the Seventies arrived...and the Sixties had already lost their optimism and shine.

Her smile, glamorous and kind....The Kindness of Women that, perhaps JG Ballard saw beneath his dystopian visions of the Sixties, the basic decency, the glimpse of something transformative.
