Illustration originally in a 1969 brochure about the Citroën 2CV. This photograph was by Sarah Moon. It was part of a set showing the car being used by the girls and nuns of a convent school. Advertising of the 1960s had a strong emphasis on style and art.

You raise an interesting point. The whole tone of this assignment was a long way removed from joie de vivre. Rather the mood appears to be ennui, even sadness. So very French.
