Star of the 'Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway Heritage Diesel Weekend', Hymek D7017 (visitor from the West Somerset) powers passed East Lodge - Stanton with 2C61 1125 Laverton Loop to Cheltenham Racecourse service on the 25.7.2014.

Hymek's were my favorite of the Western Region's diesels, largely based on their appearance. I disliked the roundness of the Warships and the Westerns seemed a bit bland and their odd colour variations didn't seem to have any purpose - Desert Sand for goodness sake!
Thanks for the reminder of my youth. Once I left home to work in London I rarely saw anything except Southern electrics.

My pleasure ...the WR Hydraulics had long gone from the BR scene when I gained an interest. I'm only thankful that a number have been preserved so that we can appreciate the aesthetic design and historic importance of these British built locomotives.
