That show, and *I Dream Of Jeannie* were already in syndication when I was a kid. I absolutely remember thinking that both protagonists could do a lot better than the wet-blanket dudes they were yoked to, and either wandering away or changing the channel in intense irritation after a few minutes. Age 7-10 was apparently my peak of not taking any guff from popular culture. :D
