Hooped skirt ladies

An antique dealer told me that this chair is from the turn of the century...maybe even around the Civil War in the south. It is very round in the seat to accommodate lady's hooped skirts and has casters on the bottom so that the gentlemen could slide it under the women's skirts. Cool.

I wore hooped petticoats under full skirts in the 1850s. This chair would have fitted my needs. ;-)))
