Town records have a "new" Hartford Road being marked in 1716 and named as a Country Road by 1718.

This is a section of the Colonial era Woodstock to Hartford Road heading west to Moose Meadow and Roaring Brook. From town records, two sections of the Hartford Old Road to the west of this were discontinued in 1800.
