Paris - Musée d’Orsay

The Musée d’Orsay is an art museum located on the south bank of the Seine, opposite the Tuileries Gardens. The building was originally the Gare d’Orsay, one of Paris’s main railway stations, built for the 1900 Universal Exposition, it served long-distance trains until 1939.

The decision to convert the station into a museum was made in 1977, and the Musée d’Orsay opened in 1986.
