Sint Niklaas - Stadthuis

The city's first Stadthuis was built in 1663. By the 19th century, however, the building no longer met the needs of the city council. Therefore, it was decided to build a new town hall on a site on the northwest side of the market square. The new, neoclassical building was constructed in 1841 and opened in 1844. In 1874, the building burned down, and it was decided to build a new town hall on the same site, which was inaugurated in 1878.

The belfry is 40m high and has a carillon of 49 bells.
