I underpassed the "Pont Bernard-Palissy", that actually replaced a Roman bridge (destroyed in 1879) a few meters dowstream. Walking up the stairs to the street level, I saw the "Arc de Germanicus", that marked the end of my walk. In medieval times the pilgrim would probably would have continued to the tomb of Saint-Eutrope. Instead I turned left - and visited the Abbaye aux Dames. I had stayed here twice before, but this time it was fully booked...

The tent is gone, the "Musée Archéologique" is in an old building next to the Tourist Office. The portal of the former Abbey Church is fantastic. It is a great and very quiet place to stay overnight,
