Fireweed
We went for a drive, down past Ester to Calypso Farm. top down on the Jeep, along winding back roads.
While my friend and visitor, Kumikosan, was tie dyeing something in a pot of natural, marigold, dye at the farm, I was sketching this.
It's said that when the fireweed blossoms are open all the way to the top of their stems, summer is about over. Judging from these we are only about half way through.
