Love-in-a-mist

These Love-in-a-Mist flowers were all battered down to the ground by heavy winds and rain, so I recovered the best bits to use in this still life image. As usual, the background is a sheet of art paper and the vases with faces came from a charity shop. Captured in natural window light and I also used a reflector.

Thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of your weekend ;-)

It would be interesting if we all discussed the intricacies of our photos, like you do. I think it's beautiful to use recycled art with secondhand flowers and vases. You've created a work of sublime and pleasing simplicity.

I always try and include some details of how I made the image.......I'm not sure everyone reads it though :-)))

I'm pleased you like this still life shot. Thanks for your visit and kind comments as always!

Also known as devil in the bush! As ever you have produced a 1st class still life I really like the vases, I like it when the seed pods have dried out a bit this is one of those flowers that would take over our garden if we let it.

Keith Burton replied to James:

I've never heard these flowers called that James!

Glad you like my latest still life shot..........and thank you as always for your visit and kind comments.

I shall probably dry out some of the seed heads both for the seeds and for taking yet more photos!

Recycling flowers is a good idea, Keith!
They look perfect in these lovely vases , the backdrop is in great harmony and the result is another fascinating still life! Great work!

Keith Burton replied to Adele:

Thanks Adele........they were too bad to keep for any length of time, so I thought I'd get a photo at least. I shall probably dry out the seed heads to collect the plant the seeds.......and also to take photos of them.

Thank you so much for your kind comments as always. Have a lovely week ahead.

The vases would look a bit weird on their own but combined with the flowers and these pastel colours they make for a perfect photo!
