Hilsea Lido, Street Art (Plus PiPs)

The Lido at Hilsea near Portsmouth, is in the process of being renovated and is currently hidden behind a series of temporary hoardings. As the hoardings were so boring the council invited some local street artists to come and brighten them up.

There are several works of art on show, but this one is my favourite. It is a collaboration between two artists; My Dog Sighs (who did the eye) and Fark (who did the rest).

Please view large and check out the two PiPs for close up views of the eye. The background in the eye is the Portsmouth skyline.

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend.

I have been looking forward to seeing this Keith and the pictures are fantastic. It's a wonderful way for artists, especially ones as good as these two, to show their work. Street art suits certain places I think and Portsmouth/Southsea, like Glastonbury, have attracted the best....mostly!

Have a good and sunny weekend.

P.S. I've just seen his FB site and he was a primary school teacher for 20 years!

I was. hoping you'd like these Rosa.............they certainly brightened up my day!

Portsmouth council are pretty tolerant of street artists...........but only if they're good at what they do. We're lucky to have so many talented local ones.

Glad you found him on FB. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.........it's lovely to have some consistent sunshine :-)

Wow I really love this street art. The PiP's are stunning - they really show the quality of the artwork of My Dog Sighs. He is indeed very talented because he has not only captured the eye itself beautifully, but the skyline is fantastic and I love the look of the fox staring back - super. If only all street art were this talented.
