River Otter Estuary, Budleigh Salterton, Devon

Such a beautiful place, but out of shot there is an amazing amount of work going on which will include creating mudflats and saltmarsh, moving a road to protect a disused landfill site from erosion, and relocating a cricket club. The restoration of this land will enable better management of flooding, absorb carbon, and provide benefits for people and wildlife.

Best viewed large if you have time. Thanks.

A fabulous shot Keith. I love this part of Budleigh Salterton. The last time I was there we were watching the 'surfers' where the estuary meets the sea....have you seen that? Also my daughter bought me afternoon tea for my birthday, so some great memories and a very beautiful picture.

Keith Burton replied to Rosalyn Hilborne:

Thank you very much Rosa. I'm glad you like this shot and that it brought back some good memories for you.

We have been visiting there for years...........my grandchildren love the pebbled beach and could spend hours there just piling them up. My granddaughter used to paint them.

I don't thinkI've never seen the surfers though.

One might even see Otters again! Looks like a most beautiful little area and its good to hear that people are taking steps to re-wild such places. It might make this place even more attractive to your camera Keith.

Well done.
Cheers. Herb

Budleigh Salterton has been a favourite of our for many years and this is another project that will help another help wildlife and hopefully residents, I read somewhere that areas like this absorb carbon in huge amounts,
A beautiful backdrop to a lovely capture and the watercourse is a brilliant lead in to this beautiful scene, would like to see this when in has grown a little.
Have a good weekend
