The Lone Paddleboarder

Taken on a tranquil, but cold winter afternoon, at Langstone Harbour, Hampshire.

(He's braver than me..........he would have been very cold in that water if he'd fallen off the board)!

Great atmosphere in subdued but lovely light in this well composed image Keith, by the wash he appears to be making good progress across the harbour and I see no reason why
I could not stand on that board, providing it wasn't in the water ;-))

He seems to be posing for you;-) A beautifully composed photo, the soft blue and grey colours add to it.

Keith Burton replied to Gudrun:

Ha, ha.........I think he was more likely concentrating on not falling in the water!

I'm pleased you like my shot Gudrun.........thanks very much.

That always looks good Keith. I would not mind giving this a go in warm weather perhaps.

Thanks Herb............appreciated.

It's certainly becoming a popular pastime...........I see lots of them about, but usually in the summer months.

This is something I wish had been around when I was younger and able to stand without falling!!!! It looks a fantastic hobby, but as all been said above - it's rather daft thing to do, this time of year and not even wearing proper clothes. I do hope he didn't fall in, otherwise it would have meant some poor lifeboat men had to get out and save him!!!!

Whatever people say about this I do wonder about it being yet another selfish pursuit, like the people who swim in reservoirs and paddleboard in places like Brotherswater having walked past the no Paddleboards sign and them head off towards swans on the water.
