Two very different buildings, both with the purpose of "saving souls" - sadly both are disused !
to the left are the ruins of Tynemouth Priory - tasked with saving the souls of parishioners.
juxtaposed with ;
to the right is the disused Tynemouth Coastguard building - which was designed to save the physical lives of seafarers in danger. Although in it's later years of operation, that was by means of radio & beacons rather than eyeballs & binoculars.
